About Yücel Durmaz
Reiki Master/Teacher since 2004. Attunements and training in twenty-five energy systems.
I was born in Afyon, Türkiye, in 1963. I grew up in İzmir and studied in Ankara, graduating from Hacettepe University in 1988 with a degree in English Language and Literature. I spent many years teaching English in state schools across Ankara, Adana and İzmir.
My interest in energy systems began in childhood, but the turning point came in 1998, when I was posted to Uzbekistan as an English teacher. There I had the chance to study with a number of masters specialising in different energy systems. What I learned in those years became the foundation of everything that followed.
On returning to Türkiye I began working with Reiki. I received the first, second and third degrees of Usui Reiki from a Reiki Master in İzmir. After a long period of practice, I received Reiki Master/Teacher, Karuna Ki Master/Teacher and Sacred Flames Reiki Master/Teacher remotely from Allison Dahlhaus, the American president of the INHA (International Natural Healers Association). My Reiki Master/Teacher certificate is dated November 2004.
In the years that followed I widened my practice. I received Kundalini Reiki, Full Spectrum Healing, Golden Triangle Healing System, Silver Violet Flame, Fairy Light Raykey and Seraph Zapharel at Master/Teacher level from the English Reiki Master Stephen Lovering; Fairy Realms Reiki from Keith Zang in the United States; Ra-Sheeba from Korkut Keskiner; Money Reiki from Stephanie Brail; and Imera Reiki from Garry Gaddis. I now hold complete lineages in twenty-five systems, and I publish every chain openly on this site.
For many years I taught in person and at a distance from my centre in Karşıyaka, İzmir. Today I live in the United Kingdom and teach remotely, working with students in Türkiye, the UK and further afield. Distance work has its own quiet beauty: distance is no obstacle to energy.
Teaching has been my profession all my life, and in Reiki too I think of myself first as a teacher. The relationship does not end when the course does — you can always write to me with a question. I continue to learn, teach and develop new energy systems.
