Making room for what you carry
The weight of a loss, a separation or a long-standing strain in a relationship may not ease quickly with self-practice alone. These sessions are unhurried: they keep your feelings company and help you look at yourself with kindness.
Does this sound familiar?
- Since a loss, the days blur into one another
- A separation or hurt keeps coming back to mind
- You carry more than your share within your family
- Tears come and you don't know where from
How a session works
- A 45-minute distance session that makes room for feelings rather than fixing them.
- If you like, you write a few lines beforehand about what you carry; it's optional.
- Afterwards you receive a short note and a small suggestion for self-kindness.
21-day follow-up and your daily practice
No course or attunement needed. After your first session we follow how you are for 21 days: I write on days 1, 5, 10, 15 and 21, and you note in your journal how you feel. The practice I suggest for this time:
Self-compassion practice · 5 minutes, any time of day
- Sit somewhere quiet and place both hands over your heart.
- Name what you feel right now: “I am sad right now”, “I am missing someone right now.”
- Say to yourself the kind sentence you would say to someone you love.
- For a few breaths, notice the warmth of your hands; let the feeling come and go.
If you are a course student
- We follow your mood score in the journal; ups and downs are normal.
- The fifth principle, “Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing”, turns first towards you.
- Tears or stillness after an attunement can be part of this process.

Get support first
These sessions support your wellbeing; they do not replace medical or psychological care. Please keep up any treatment you receive. If any of the following sounds familiar, speak to a professional first; Reiki can then walk alongside.
- Hopelessness has taken over, or you are thinking of harming yourself
- You are in a relationship that involves violence or abuse
