The Psychic Protection Flame is a system for protection against psychic attack; its source is attributed to Archangel Michael. By the system's account we are all born with a natural defence — a kind of spiritual immunity; but trauma, exhaustion or other loads on the energy system can weaken it.
Healers and those who work with energy are said to need more care here: both the work itself and the dense energy clients carry make regular protection necessary.
The system treats psychic attack under three headings. The first is direct attack: someone turning on another's energy field knowingly and with ill intent. The second is psychic vampirism — one person drawing on another's energy; the manual notes this is most often unconscious, like someone in need clutching at a life ring. The third is contamination: contact with someone who bears no ill will but carries a heavy energy.
The test given for this third kind is a practical one: if you find yourself constantly uneasy around a particular person, or going on the defensive when you otherwise would not, something there may be weighing on you. The manual's advice is plain — limit contact with such people as far as you can, and choose to be around those who lift you.
Long-term energetic contamination is associated with an unaccountable listlessness, anxiety, unexplained tiredness, things going wrong and money troubles. I do not offer this as a medical explanation, and it would not be right to: no energy work explains the cause of an illness, diagnoses it or replaces treatment. If you have an ongoing complaint in your body, see your doctor first; think of this work only as a support alongside the treatment you are receiving.
It is simple to use. Once attuned, you need only call the flame to raise a protective shield of rainbow energy around you. By the system's account, each time it is called the flame works to repair spiritual immunity as well as to protect.
