Reiki III (B) — Master / Teacher

This level is less a transfer of knowledge than a handover of responsibility. You receive the attunement, learn to work with the four symbols at teaching level, and learn the whole attunement process, so that you can attune your own students.

What the handbook insists on most is not technique but readiness. Collecting students the moment the certificate arrives is described as something that darkens the future of this work. You are asked to learn Reiki for yourself first — with a concrete practice: a full session on yourself every day for at least a month, and on others three times a week.

The path is set out in order: stay with Reiki 1 until you are completely sure of yourself, then move to Reiki 2 and grow used to distance healing and the symbols, build up the Hui Yin position until you can hold it long enough to give an attunement — which can take some weeks — and only then begin working with the teaching energy.

There is also an honest warning: if there are things in you still to be resolved, if old problems are still running, that is taken as a sign that you are not ready. No one is without problems, but a teacher needs to be clear in spirit and mind.

The handbook also describes the practical weight of teaching: taking your own needs seriously, the tiredness that comes with frequent healing, teaching in settings you do not control. The attunement process, the symbols and the order of teaching are all set out in detail.
