The level XIII symbol is called the Great Teacher. It aims to connect you with your inner knowledge / teacher and allow you to find the answers you require to achieve your life purpose. The knowing that we are all one.

Prerequisite
No prerequisite — if you feel ready, you may take it.
The symbol of this level is Dai Hana. It is written in Japanese kanji and represents its own name; the source gives its meaning as "teacher".
Grandmaster 13 is taken to be the final degree of Reiki as things stand today. It was rediscovered by Roberta Rianad during a meditation.
It concerns reaching the teacher within. It begins from the idea that every being has a task in life, and that recognising it is not always easy — which is why we need a master, a teacher. The handbook describes the soul as the divine spark within us; the work of this level aims to teach you to speak with that spark.
It is used when you feel in need of counsel or help, or when you want to recognise your task in life. With the attunement you learn this level's meditation; the handbook contains the drawing of the symbol, the meditation, the attunement ritual and the symbol codes.

Prerequisite
You are expected to have been working actively as a Reiki Master for at least six months, and the levels are taken in sequence. This is a guideline rather than a gate — it is what works for most people.
Some students arrive ready by another route, through years of their own practice, even without having taken these particular systems. If you feel ready, you may go ahead; the decision is yours.
One thing said plainly: an attunement opens as far as the ground beneath it allows. If that ground is not settled yet, the level is still given, but you may not see the response you hoped for straight away. That is not a failure, only timing — a level taken early usually waits for you and settles into place once you are ready.

The main level VII symbol is called the GREAT FREEDOM. It aims to help you break free from the things that bind you or hold you back (free from dependence on others or things). You will learn to find the source of happiness within yourself and your connection with the Universal Life Energy. Level VIII Symbol- DAI HEY WA- The Great Peace.
Reiki GrandMaster IX
The level IX symbol is called The Great Happiness which aims to assist you in finding true happiness in life. Happiness means to love and accept yourself and others unconditionally.
