The symbol of Level XIV is called the Great Eye. It aims to turn your attention inward rather than searching outside for answers, so that you come to know your own strength.

Prerequisite
No prerequisite — if you feel ready, you may take it.
The symbol of this level is Dai Moku — written in Japanese kanji, its meaning is "the Great Eye". The symbol was given to Roberta Rianad by her spiritual guides.
What it points at is simple to say and hard to do: the struggle to get by keeps a person looking outward — what shall we eat, what shall we wear, what will others say. That gaze carries you away from yourself. Level XIV proposes the opposite: turning the eye inward.
The handbook illustrates this with the birds of the air and the lilies of the field from Matthew, and with Angelus Silesius, who had understood that the realm of God is reached only by looking inward. The idea is that once we know our inner self, the rest is given to us.
With the attunement you learn this level's own meditation. It is short and plain; it has less to do with how you sit than with where your attention turns. Worked with regularly, what it gives is not a piece of knowledge but a sense of trust that comes from feeling watched over.
The handbook contains the drawing of the symbol, the steps of the meditation, the attunement ritual and the symbol codes — so you can pass this level on to others.

Prerequisite
You are expected to have been working actively as a Reiki Master for at least six months, and the levels are taken in sequence. This is a guideline rather than a gate — it is what works for most people.
Some students arrive ready by another route, through years of their own practice, even without having taken these particular systems. If you feel ready, you may go ahead; the decision is yours.
One thing said plainly: an attunement opens as far as the ground beneath it allows. If that ground is not settled yet, the level is still given, but you may not see the response you hoped for straight away. That is not a failure, only timing — a level taken early usually waits for you and settles into place once you are ready.

The level IX symbol is called The Great Happiness which aims to assist you in finding true happiness in life. Happiness means to love and accept yourself and others unconditionally.
